Lecithin is an essential fat present in body cells and is often added to medication and food products for the number of health benefits it provides which include supporting function and health of the brain and cell membranes, antioxidant properties and supporting liver function to assist with fat loss.

Sunflower lecithin can be used as an emulsifier in baking or added to smoothies, yoghurt or other foods.

For breastfeeding women who suffer from blocked/plugged ducts or recurrent episodes of mastitis are often advised by their midwife or lactation consultant to increase their intake of lecithin. Lecithin may help with blocked ducts by decreasing its viscosity (stickiness) of the breast milk by increasing the percentage of polyunsaturated fatty acids in the milk. Find out more about lecithin for breastfeeding here.

Suflower Lecithin Review

I bought this sunflower lecithin because I could not obtain fa similar product from my regular source, probably a consequence of the Ukraine war. That may have a bit to do with the increased cost. That's really the only downside to the product.
I do like the fact that it is an entirely New Zealand product. I believe it works in much the same way. I have it 5 days a week with turmeric. I use both in powder form so they mix well. Turmeric in not produced in the human body and not normally very bio-available by itself. With sunflower lecithin powder, it is said to make the turmeric at least 25 times as available as it would be alone. I add it to a berry smoothie made with acidophilus yoghurt It works well and I may use it permanently.

I put this with my breakfast cereal and cannot taste it. Mixes in well too. Haven't had my cholesterol checked of late so no results yet.

Sunflower Lecithin

I'm so happy I found this product recently, as I haven't been able to find sunflower lecithin anywhere, and I would rather not use any soy products. Looking forward to seeing if it will help to reduce my cholestrol levels.

This is the only lecithin i have found that is not made with soy products.
I am so pleased. A cholesterol in this family has to be worked on and i am hoping this will help.
